During November and December 2017, the last weeks of the campaign, D4B wrote to every Rother councillor three times.
The idea was not only to persuade each of them about the costs and benefits of a Bexhill town council, but also to correct misinformation, inform and reassure. It is important that they get the facts they need to make their free-vote decision.

At Democracy4Bexhill, we recognise that whether you initially agreed with the idea of adopting a town council or not, you are as passionate about Bexhill as we are. Letter number 3

Dear Councillor

Some points were made at the recent meeting on the Community Governance Review of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and at Cabinet, which we can help to clarify.

“Nowhere has got more than a quarter of the people [voting].” (Cllr John Barnes)

For 25.8% of the electorate to respond is an extraordinary turnout for a consultation. The response was a record for a Rother consultation, and sixteen TIMES higher than any of the last three consultations.
