Public Meeting Update

There was terrific support for D4B at our public meeting on Saturday morning at St Barnabas Church. Over 140 people  plus local community groups came and gave support for our new campaign which aims to endorse pro-town council candidates to fight the 2019 elections. The response was great: lots of interest from some really experienced people who would like to stand as councillors from across the political spectrum. Plus there was over £480 in donations to the cause – many thanks to all!

We can overturn Rother’s decision not to set up a Town Council for Bexhill, thus ignoring 8,600 people who responded positively to the consultation. This is winnable and we can make change happen. If you agree do visit our page DemocracyFor Bexhill and follow our news updates, plus see the two excellent videos shown to the meeting.

One last thing…. a shout out to Rother Voluntary Action who funded two sign language interpreters for the meeting. This enabled 6 deaf residents to take part in the meeting.
