We are nearly there!

The proposal to set up Bexhill town council is now going through the statutory process. The Community Governance Review Steering Group and the Overview and Scrutiny Committee have endorsed the idea, and the Cabinet will discuss it virtually on Monday 7 September at 1830. The documents can be found here and you can watch the meeting live or afterwards on Youtube. (Search for “Rother District Council”. Full Council will make the final decision on Monday 21 September at 1830).

The outpouring of energy and community spirit in Bexhill during the COVID-19 crisis has underlined the common sense of giving our town its own voice. Our town council will not be a big spender, it will be small, responsive and practical. Exciting times!
